WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN OILY AND COMBINED SKIN?

"Oily skin secretes excess sebum, looks and feels oily and is prone to imperfections. People with oily skin say that only two hours after cleansing their skin is already oily and their makeup begins to spread. They often need to wash their face during the day and use different types of face wipes and powders to deal with shine.

Combination skin is oily in the traditional T zone (forehead, nose, chin), and is normal or even dry in the rest of the face. People with combination skin need a variety of products to meet the needs of both skin types. "

WHAT ARE THE CAUSES OF OILY SKIN

"The main reason is heredity - thank you, mom and dad! - Excessive fat usually affects almost all people during puberty, when changing hormones cause higher sebum production. In women, the change in sebum levels is more common due to changes in hormone levels in connection with various drugs, pregnancy, menopause. Exercise can also increase the level of sebum secreted from the skin and make the skin oilier."

HOW TO TAKE CARE OF OILY SKIN

"We have to be careful, it is not good to clean the skin too often, twice a day is enough. Although you may be tempted to use alcohol-based tonics and other products to make your skin feel drier, removing too much of the natural fat in your skin can make it produce even more sebum.

Oily skin is not affected by the consumption of oily foods, but it is good for overall health to follow a healthy diet rich in fruits and vegetables and balanced in terms of protein and carbohydrates. Try cooking with healthy fats, such as coconut, olive or linseed oil.

With regard to cosmetics, look for products with mattifying ingredients, such as tea tree oilcharcoal or clay."

CAN OILY SKIN BE DRY?

"Even on oily skin, there can be dry or flaky areas - this happens when the skin is cleaned too often or if it is combined. Oily skin does not need a heavy cream, it is recommended to use a light moisturizing serum, gel or lotion for drier areas.

Oily skin can also be sensitive; in this case it is best to use cleansing and moisturizing products for sensitive skin that contain aloe, camomile, and almond milk and honey. Choose gentle yet effective cleansers and light face creams to keep your skin clean and hydrated. ”
