THE PACKAGING OF THE BODY SHOP
LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR PLASTIC RECYCLING PROJECTS
We are changing the way we think about plastics and packaging as we strive to work as sustainably as possible. Learn more about the projects we are working on to achieve this goal.
We strive to help people and protect the planet, so we started using recycled plastic from Bangalore, India, in the packaging of our products..
The use of this material not only helps to deal with the global plastic crisis. Our goal for the first years of the project is to provide food and dignified life for 2,500 "waste collectors" in Bangalore by paying a fair price for their work and providing them with a stable income, access to better working conditions and social services, and the respect they deserve.

HERE IS OUR PLAN FOR THE FUTURE
Our goal is to use a minimum of 75% PCR (post-consumer recycled) plastic in the packaging of our products. This is a big improvement over the 10% PCR plastic in our packaging. But why not strive for 100% PCR? Doing so would reduce the life of recycled plastic. By adding a small amount of non-recycled plastic to our packaging, we can be sure that all the packaging we produce can be recycled. *
All plastics we use will not contain fossil fuels. We will collect plastic equal to 100% of the weight of our packaging to reuse in our supply chain.
We will use only three types of plastic instead of 20. This will make our packaging easier to recycle. With various programs we will collect 25% more packages than the packages of the products we sell. This is great for the environment as well as for other companies that use recycled materials.
* Non-recycled plastic will be from a green source, not fossil fuels.
WE ARE CONSTANTLY INCREASING THE QUANTITY OF PCR PLASTIC IN OUR PACKAGING
PCR plastic is a material that already exists, no creation of a new material is required. That's why we're moving to a minimum of 75% PCR in all our 60ml, 250ml and 750ml bottles. That's approximately 580 tons of plastic saved each year.
Here are our bottles, which from June 2019 contain 75% PCR plastic.
• 49 types of shower gel
• 27 types of body lotion
• 20 facial products
• 17 shampoos and conditioners
• 6 types of hand cleansing gel
